thanks to @lukeferrar for this, the first photo sent to me in reply to my blog about the new album ‘cyberspace and reds’. it totally represents what the album is about aswell. it’s got the bear obviously and the words ‘whitney technology education’ on the screen which although i don’t consciously understand the meaning of, subconsciously it totally represents what the album is about. i only normally smoke outside casino doors but on my way home from costa coffee i decided to smoke a pack of marlboro reds to remind me what this album is all about. i’ve successfully chained 5 so far. i’m going to read my new copy of sound on sound magazine and then post up the first song on the forthcoming release scheduled for before 7th febuary
p.s. no one has yet sent me any audio. i need this to start on the second song which i will post on wednesday
***cyberspace and reds***
my new album is old. i finished most of it around a year ago. for various reasons they are building up to release it when the ticker times out. apart from having written it and therefore it being a part of me, it doesn’t feel a part of me. its a part of my past. it sits in the machine right now waiting to leak into the cloud. if you are a fan of the streets it will be in your future. ive written blogs like this before. the curiosity of this situation blah blah. the way it is with the internet these days it doesnt have to be like this because as I have demonstrated, i can have an idea and then record it and post it on youstube the same day. i feel negative about everything i’m doing at the moment because ive been doing the same thing for as long as i remember. i’m being creative but I don’t feel any emotion as i do it. it’s nothing new. i lie on the sofa. ipad playing music on my chest, kindle in one hand, with a field recorder in the other recording the sound of the room. i’ve been recording a lot of rooms lately. i can either lie here and just watch james bond or i can get up and make another album from recordings of various rooms. i’ll call the album ‘cyberspace and reds’. it will be available before 7th febuary. it will be painfully repetitive. there’ll be chord changes that have never changed in that way before. the lyrics will make no sense. i’ll post the first song up very soon after this blog. it will be the ‘ragga by way of duran duran’ thing we started last week set to a series of random frost based images. the album artwork will be the first photo that is tweeted to me after this blog is posted that has anything to do with a computer. there will be a whole song on the album that explains the photo that someone is going to send to me. someone else will tweet me a piece of audio after they read this blog which will form the background of the next song I write which will be posted on wednesday. im going to watch live and let die so that i don’t think about the throbbing sensation engorging my inner soul. i will stare at the sleeping pills but i won’t take one. i will record the sound of the tv as i watch it but I won’t turn it into a song as the copyright is owned by EON productions

wow. ipad multitasking combined with airplay and spotify. beast. i’m frying my mind to the sounds of chet baker wirelessly in the studio while spotify runs in the background without turning off when you switch to another application. toe tapping to a jazzer. forget the fact that right now spotify is a vehicle to swell the majors stakeholdings in it and the artists don’t see any upside. hopefully the streaming model ive been banging on about will be greatly adopted by the great unwashed. and then when it has some kind of ubiquity, the song creators can start to draw attention to the fact that they aren’t making shit out of it. groovy baby
***flamingos and videos***
flamingos can form themselves into flamingo shaped gatherings in order to warn other birds of what they are. doesnt that blow your fucking mind? like flamingos are aware of what they look like. or maybe the flamingos that survived are the ones that just happened to be able to form themselves into flamingo shaped gatherings that ward away other birds and thus accidently select themselves for survival over the next lot of flamingos that happened to form themselves into the shape of a giant prawn thus advertising the location of tasty filter feeding food
i’ve learnt a lot about animals in the last day or so. giant centipedes can mix up most living things. if you dont believe me do a search on youstube. the japanese bet on what will survive out of a giant centipede and say, a small mammal. those giant centipedes are vicious aswell. one bite on the solar plexus and you wont be able to smell or taste anything for 2 days. grimey. but not to fear because anything that human beings fear, we kill in large numbers. scorpions kill 5 thousand people every year but we kill millions of them back. its good to know we are approaching the era of solitude in style
me and rob harvey are vibing on a ragga beat that magic seems to have turned into a 70′s tv show by way of mysterious rhodes and prophet synthesizer. i stole some lyrics from a seth godin blog and then left the studio to update my ipad to 4.2. it seems to have died though. the bar is stuck. you may never hear from me again if it doesnt turn on as im writing this from my next door neighbours computer. i meant to celebrate the recording of the video to my single yesterday but i was so tired that i ate 3 rich tea biscuits and fell asleep to the sound of gunfire (bad company battlefield this time- call of duty seems to have fallen out of favour due to 12 year olds that camp out and kill wherever you spawn)
i am partying for the rest of the week though to celebrate the recording of my new video for ‘going through hull’. the mazagines seem to think the song is called ‘going through hell’ but i was being more locationally specific

You know how they like to leak bad news out at times when the press is busy occupied by something else? You know 9/11 you drop a load of new tax laws or something and no one notices? Well tell me, is it a coincidence that today, on the day the date for the royal wedding is announced, and we are given an extra bank holiday that on this very day, Kim Jong Il decides to unleash his furious rockets down on Western Society?
No fucking way. This is not by chance.
He thinks he’s gonna get away with it and no one’s going to notice the nuclear holocaust raining down on all of us, as we will be too enchanted by the eternal question of just what Kate’s dress will look like. Well not me, i’m watching you four eyes.
